After Samantha started taking an SSRI at the start of this year, she found that it was affecting her sex drive,2 leading her to feel disconnected from her husband Robert.

It’s important for Samantha to find a treatment for her MDD that doesn’t affect her intimacy with her husband.

Sexual dysfunction:

Sexual dysfunction is common with serotonergic antidepressants, including SSRIs and SNRIs, and does not resolve in most patients²

MDD, major depressive disorder; SNRIs, serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors; SSRIs, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

Brintellix may help patients like Samantha who are experiencing sexual dysfunction with their current treatment2

In clinical trials a low rate of patients reported sexual dysfunction at 5-15 mg,*1,3 whereas the 20 mg dose was associated with an increase in sexual dysfunction compared to placebo.1 There have been reports of sexual dysfunction with doses below 20 mg during the post-marketing period.1

  • *Brintellix 15 mg is not available for use in the UK.1
